  1. Yep, they’ve already been talking about that here in Atlanta. I personally think the outlook isn’t good. We already have a shortage of jobs here, and there will be fierce competition from the illegal alien community. Housing may also be a problem. They’ve been shutting down the public housing for the past few years, and affordable housing anyplace near where jobs are available is very difficult to find.

  2. While it’s going to be a incredibly tough job market for these folks to say the least, I applaud them for getting out there and looking rather than waiting for the gov’t to step in somehow… (Which we’ve seen working sooo well so far.)

  3. I’ve heard several people on the news, including (gasp) overweight middle-aged black women, say that they don’t want “any damn assistance” other than a way to get out into whatever community they’re going to end up in, and look for work to support themselves and their families.

    I also heard on Wal-Mart worker say she’d been guaranteed a SM job in whatever city she ends up in. Is WM doing this across the board? If so, good for them.
