Oh, the irony

Democrats are upset because a Republican President is banning non-citizens from entering the country and carrying on like it’s some tremendous human rights violation, meanwhile they seem to conveniently forget the Democrat President who actually rounded up American citizens of a particular ethnicity and stuffed them into concentration* camps.

  1. IIRC several ethnicities and even members of a political movement were rounded up.
Yes, Americans rounded up for a political belief. Oh the horror!

  2. There are still all those old FEMA camps Clinton built. Just sitting there, empty……

  3. The also forget Jimmah Cahtuh, who blackballed Iranians, back in his day.

Sux to be ignorant of history when it smacks you upside the head.

  4. What about the Native Americans? They were forcibly removed from their lands to other regions of the country.
The Reservation system still exists, though now they are free to move from the Reservation.

  5. “Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he deems necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens,” according to the federal Immigration and Nationality Act. Obama used the same authority to denying entry to Iraqis and Carter used it with Iran!!!

  6. If you want to prevent terrorist attacks, it strikes me as a fairly commonsense step to subject immigrants coming in from countries on the list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism” to heightened scrutiny. And to suspend entry of refugees from Syria (Syria is literally the second S in ISIS).

Will this disadvantage some good people from those countries? Of course! Not everyone from those countries is a terrorist. But as far as I know, no one has the irrevocable RIGHT to enter our country, other than US citizens.

Honestly, we should have this conversation as a nation. If we aren’t willing to minimally inconvenience a very small percentage of international travellers (it was less than 1% of travellers to the US this past weekend), in the name of reducing the risk of terrorism, we should just all give up and roll out the red carpet to the entire world for as long as that can last.

  7. Let’s see, 15 out of 19 911 terrorists were Saudi. The san Bernadino shooters were Pakistani. Are either of these country’s listed in the 7 country’s banned by trump? No they are not. Feeling safer? Something stinks

    • I agree with your point, but neither of those countries is on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism created by the Obama administration, which Trump used as the basis for his Executive Action. Trump has stated his intent to add more countries to the list in the future.

    • the sauds and paks have very good intel and databases from which to vet said persons.

  8. So first he trolls them with a list put together by Obamma. Then, once people are used to it, he adds countries. No big deal.

And, can’t piss off the Saudis right away. I’m sure there is a list of stuff that needs to be squared away first.

  9. For the Open Borders people I always say: You put locks on the doors to your house for the same reason we need to put locks on the borders.

    • Only this weekend a “Open Borders type” was talking and I asked why should a county be any less secure then their car or home – guess what they did not get it.
It’s the same thing when they go on about “if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear type” (though funny now the rights in power I don’t hear it) if I say that I’m going to have a look around their home and car.

  10. don’t forget clinton promising to do the same and close the southern border in one of his state of the union addresses, to ruckus applause from both sides.

  11. I keep hearing about a Trump Muslim ban but when I look it up non of these country’s are even in the top five for Muslim population – its a rubbish Muslin ban.

Iran is at no. 6 with 74,819,000
Sudan is at no. 10 with 39,027,950
Iraq is at no. 12 with 31,108,000
Yemen is at no. 17 with 24,023,000
Syria is at no. 19 with 20,895,000
Somalia is at no. 28 with 9,231,000
Libya is at no. 37 with 6,325,000
Somalia is at no. 28 with 9,231,000

    TOTAL 205,428,950

As I said rubbish Muslin ban, he could have just banned Indonesia at no. 1 with 204,847,000 banded all most as many Muslims as these 7 country’s put to together. I have also found out that some of the people who a banded are – weight for it – not Muslims.
So the one thing we can say is President Trump has brought about a rubbish Muslin ban (if it was a Muslin ban which it must be as the news keeps telling us it is, and they would not lie would they?).

  12. Two Democrat Party Presidents.

    Everyone remember what FDR did.

Few remember that Woodrow Wilson did the same, to various persons of German heritage. Brownshirts rousting people in the middle of the night from their homes, forcing companies to fire German speaking people, actual concentration camps and forced sales of assets held by suspected people.

Hitler learned a lot from Woodrow Wilson and his people. FDR just did it on a larger scale.

Had distant relatives who were Wilsoned during WWI. Loss of homes, broken families, arrests, everything. And the nation stood by and said nothing. Nothing. Wait, they cheered, and joined in, gleefully following and joining in the ‘celebrations.’

Wait, make that three wartime Democratic Presidents. Look at how a whole political class (middle class Republicans) was targeted during the Presidency of Barack Insane Obummer.

    Fxking Democrats.
