Notes From The Bunker

Article – Brian Head Fire led officials to uncover survivalist’s explosive-filled bunkers hidden near makeshift cabins

This cannot end well.

The proper response when someone with a badge asks you if those are your explosives is NOT to say “Yeah, those are mine but don’t worry they’re harmless.”

There are all sortsa things hidden out in the great big forests and deserts of the West if you just happen to know where to look.

  1. Might be good to practice a response should it ever be needed. ‘…I won’t be answering any questions, where is my lawyer?…’

    • “I do not consent to be searched, I do not consent to a line-up, I will not make any statement without my lawyer present.”..repeat as necessary.

  2. It might also pay to take the “Bunker Construction 101” class at the local community college….

  3. “They also saw what appeared to be explosive powder, fuses and ammunition.”

Why do I get the feeling that is just plain ol’ smokeless gunpowder?

What really makes me curious is how they uncovered the “person of interest” so quickly. My guess is he left some firearms behind that they could trace back to him.

Not a very bright guy, by my lights.

  4. Maybe he is some sort of fundamentalist…all glossy-eyed by his God…that would explain the willingness to talk…I could see them trying to keep a lid on that in Utah…
