  1. $20 a brick, delivered? Wow, that’s about as close to “The Good Ole Days” on .22LR I’ve heard about in over a decade. Good score. Still, I’d prefer the $80-85 I remember paying for 1k rounds of steel cased Wolf 7.62x39mm. Or the brass cased .223 from Norinco @ $120 per 1k.
Last week I couldn’t resist the temptation of a Sportsman’s Guide coupon of 15% off + free shipping on ammo and picked up 1k of Wolf 7.62×39 and 1k of Wolf Gold .223. After the discount, it broke down to $169.57 and $242.24 respectively. Not bad, but nowhere near.
Again, congrats on the find. Care to share the source of your score?

  2. Have you done business with these people before? Every time I see great ammo prices it is with Mystery Companies. I understand Visa protects against fraud but I’d rather avoid the hassle. Appreciate the info.

    • Theyre one of the bigger national distributors. They just emailed me the FedEx tracking number, so my concerns of being screwed over are nil.

  3. RSR is one of the biggest distributors in the country and has been for a long time. get cozy with your favorite FFL and he can order for you.

  4. Still a little rich for my blood. TBH, I have almost completely shelved the .22s since this madness began (about two months before my first can was approved, ugh). If I’m gonna be spending $0.08/rd out of a pistol, I’d rather just spend the $0.20/rd and practice with my carry or nightstand gun, with full recoil, better trigger, and familiarity. It’s just better practice with the real thing.

Interestingly, good CCI ammo is basically at its pre-run price of eight cents or so, but the cheap stuff is also eight cents. Maybe I should stock up on some CCI now.

Four cents is tempting, but the few bricks I have laying around still I bought at two cents or lower, and that is just too much of a psychological barrier.

  5. Thanks for sharing the source. I just wish there were dealers out here who would order stuff like this for people without charging fees that make it no longer worthwhile.

Or rather, I wish there were dealers that I knew… heh…
