  1. No one will admit it, but we’re all preppers, now. The new, dopey ones stock up on pickles, toilet paper, and the Fudd Gat.

The ‘paranoids’ (like me) have been getting ready for a generation.

  2. I’m finding the transition from “prepping for the disaster” to “living in the disaster” to be a bit disconcerting. Prepping has given a framework and a purpose to my activities for so long, that it’s become a way of life. Actually USING my preps for any length of time is weird.

It was hard to make the change back to prepping for the next thing too. I don’t HAVE to shop for toilet paper, I’ve got enough for 6 months, but that assumes I want to wipe with my hand after 6 months, or that I’ll start replenishing then.

If I want to continue prepping for whatever comes next, I DO need to shop for TP. I need to do my normal thing, just as replenishment more than ‘stacking it high’. You don’t want to run down your stores just in time for the spicy time to kick off, or for the financial reckoning to get started in earnest.

It’s clear the wuflu isn’t going to be the zombie apocalypse, TEOTWAWKI, or the end of times. Which means, Keep Stacking to get ready for whatever comes next.

(as a plus, I’m finally using some of the older stuff and rotating stocks… but also not anywhere nearly as fast as I thought I would.)

    • What comes next is the economic and political chaos!! The Socialist/Marxist have been embolden by their recent successes. They will not be letting up on the gas as they see this as their time. Bad times are a head for sure, I just hope we the constitutionalist prevail!!!

  3. I have been increasing my preps since the Mexican Beer Virus started. For years my replacement policy has been every time I use up one of something I buy two, and then start using the next oldest as the replacement. Lately (since the rioting) that has become 1:3 or more. This way I know I’m increasing the quantities of the things I actually use in the proper proportions.

The term “spicy time” just isn’t strong enough. What’s coming is a habanero sauce that will melt your spoon.

  4. Starting over a complete loss(fire-do not have a new”smart meter” they are a fire hazard) has shown the neccesity of back up cache, fire safe(saved “boat lost” items), insurance( you are likely underinsured) and a good inventory(sit down and try to remember everything you own without looking).
