Musings from Year One of the blog

I was digging through the blog and this post from 2003, the first year of the blog, caught my eye….

Its nice to see my ideas about what I wanted have stayed fairly consistent, if not realistic, over the years. Some grandiose ideas that ain’t gonna be cheap, but I’m gonna do what I can. Took 22 years, but I finally managed to get the ball rolling. Now I just gotta get it into the goal before Im too old to enjoy it.

  1. “Now I just gotta get it into the goal before Im too old to enjoy it.” Take that one to heart. As a now soon to be 63 year old, working outdoors accomplishing ‘Big Boy Tasks’ is not getting any easier. Especially the ‘moving heavy crap from here to there’ – takes more recovery time to line up my bones. I don’t own a home in the woods – I just have rural property I use to hunt, hike and camp. Roads don’t stay fixed (especially cross slope) and growth along both sides of it keeps growing to where I have to cut it back at least twice a year. Its a chore.

But you have a place to call yours and that thought alone should propel enthusiasm to get it all done. I’m sure a lot of people who have done this can give you good advice on how to accomplish this as easy and fast as possible.

    Well done man ! :^)
