Real Estate – Nuclear Bunker For Sale

I love the idea of these, but the maintenannce is, no doubt, pretty intensive. On the other hand, you could just buy it and sell ‘subscriptions’ to it like those Vivos schemes. For what you’d pay for one of these, you could build an amazing, smaller place better suited for a small (or large) family.

  1. Makes me think of those AT&T sites that come up for sale now and then. Layout seems to be a little different. The others I have seen (videos of) typically have one or two big rooms where all the communications equipment was. It’s almost in the exact middle of Pennsylvania, not much around there, about 35 miles east of State College/ Penn State University.

    • It appears to be exceptionally similar to the standard ATT long-lines repeater site design. Perhaps a little different because of early/later design, local requirements, who knows? But the essentials – 10k sq ft ish, generator (still there, which is nice), water (ditto), should be a septic or sewage lagoon somewhere, etc.

Those rooms? Those were equipment rooms before they were subdivided. Nice they left the electrical connections.

  2. The problem with this property, and most of them is the one uncorrectable failure of property: Location.

Sorry, but I’m not riding out whatever is coming east of the Mississippi. Ideally, not east of the Rockies – the population densities are simply too high. Rawle’s “Golden Horde” is there, waiting.

  3. but remember this, it is all uphill. YUP. people do not like to walk uphill .
most will go around hills. say what you will. but most of the ‘golden horde” will not make it into the hills. let alone get up into the hills. I moved to the hills of PA. just for that reason. people tend to “clanish” up here. takes a while for them to get used to you as one of them. BUT, once they do. you will find out life a lot better overall.

    • Delaware Gap about only way west from NYC without major detour,PA mountains would stop 90%+ in a few miles. Had one of the microwave towers were I grew up,nothing was taking that down but New Madrid level quake or Real Demolitions. Thought it would be cool to visit.
