Portents of doom

No Black Panthers standing at the doors of my local voting place, so there wasn’t any Obamadrama to speak of. However, there was one little bit of enlightenment. As we were leaving the building, the wife stopped to take a picture of the sign that said ‘polling place’. As she was taking the picture, the postal carrier showed up in his little white van and started walking up the steps behind her. Like a lot of letter carriers (or ‘mailmen’, if you don’t mind using the non-PC term) he had his iPod with him. As he’s walking up the steps to the school/polling place he’s whistling something…familiar. He passes by me and I say to the wife “I think …yes..he’s whistling the Soviet national anthem.” I couldn’t let it go at that so I followed him into the building, catching him as he was coming back out. “Is that the Soviet national anthem?”, I asked? “Might be our anthem after today.” He relplied as he got back into his truck.

Hmmmmmm.

And that’s my voting story for the day.

As I have since I started voting, I did not vote for a single Democrat. And as I have since I started voting, I feel absolutely no regret or remorse for my choices.

If Obama wins he gets inaugurated around January 20th of next year. The time between now and then will be the last opportunity to buy important gun-related items. I guarantee you that the manufacturers are making receivers as fast as they possibly can. Same thing for the magazine manufactuers. And as industrious as they are, the Democrats are going to be even more industrious. Schumer and his fellow travelers, I would bet, are even now working on legislation they plan to bring to the table within days of the change in administration. Bet on it.

Now that it’s a race, expect to see availability going down and pricing going up on magazines, ammo, components, and guns. Supply and demand, folks. A lot of people sat on the fence and waited to see how the election went and are now deciding that, gosh, its time to buy. But you and I, we’ve known better all along and have, I hope, got all our purchasing behind us. If theres anything that you’re deficient on, anything you think you might need someday, anything that you just plain want….get out and get it this week. Tomorrow if you can. Today if at all possible.

If Im wrong, you have a bunch of gear that you needed anyway. But if Im right…well, then you’re going to feel extremely smug and satisfied later.

  1. I heard a rumor that Magpul stopped making 20 round mags because the demand for 30s was so high, and that they’re running the machines 24/7 except for maintenance. I cleared out a local store yesterday, they were selling them for 25% off. Nothing like a whole bag of PMAGs for $11.20 each.

  2. Just put in my order for another 5 pack of 30 rounders from CProducts.

And I’ll be picking up the last toy next week, I think.

  3. I just ordered 10 30-round AR mags, plus two for a friend. I also picked up two 27-round .22LR AR mags for my friend’s .22 kit.

I also picked up a DPMS M4gery and a Glock 19. I should get some Glock mags, but I’m tapped out for cash right now.

  4. Thanks for reminding me about Black Dog Machine mags for my bushy .22lr.

I just dropped $700 buying PMAGs for a friend and myself. Another $100 for 3 blackdog mags won’t kill me.

  5. I feel absolutely no regret or remorse for my choices.

As long as you voted freely and of your own accord, you should NEVER feel remorse or regret for your choices.

Feeling happiness or disappointment? Hells yes. But regret? You really should never feel that way, unless you simply didn’t cast a vote in any direction.

  6. The Soviets did a lot of things really well. Totally kicked ass at them, in fact. SKSes, AKs, ushankas, untold billions of rounds of 7.62 Commie, peaked caps, slave labour camp systems, and one hell of a catchy national anthem.

I miss them. We just don’t have anything quite in their league as civilizational adversaries, probably never will again, and the Soviets had a far, far better sense of style than the frikking jihadis. I mean, the soundtracks to those jihadi vids on YouTube are freaking unlistenable.

  7. Mags should start flying off the shelf today. jgsales.com and cdnn has 30 rd AK mags for ~$10.

The Soviets didn’t take no shit. Get with the program or off to Siberia, which will it be comrade? Only now fed.gov will ship unwilling citizens with bad attitudes off to Denton, KS where the aerial shots of the detention camp look a lot like concentration camps, complete with ovens built onto the end of the barracks.
