Just the other day I mentioned here that man does not live by lean meat alone, gotta have some fat also. And “Voila!,” the short, black, furry critter takes care of that quite nicely. A friend of mine has killed several here in Kentucky and swears bear meat is as good as the best beef roast he’s ever eaten, and he raises his own beef, so he knows these things.
Be sure to print and frame the bear photo so the girls in your cheerleader internship program will know to stay close to you. Ha!
Might want to check your AO for dens dug into the earth. A couple hundred pounds of salt (for snow removal, wink) near a stock tank (for the ducks, wink) might help out.
As it’s been stated, “Bears are scared of you”…. But…
that must be the “one” who’s wondering where “you” are…
Regardless, there’s plenty of roaming food on your beta site…
Hate to say it, but that is a bear. Looking for food to get through winter on. Any caves in the area?
That’s about the size of the one my old pastor shot up Black Cat Gulch.
I had to carry that fucker out for him, too. Miserable load.
Maybe it identifies as an elk. Especially during elk season.
Antlerless and short-legged, indeed. Did you forget your pick-a-nick basket, Boo Boo?

Bear meat has an excellent taste. Very rich. I prefer it over all meats except salmon.

how hard is it to get an elk license? I’m not sure how you would deal with all that meat that far out in the boonies. I’m sure the bear would help.
You walk into a sporting goods store and buy an elk license. Same as buying a deer license.
Cool! Love the wildlife shots!
Interesting that the elk were checking out the spot you cleared for the container.
got to love the elk being attracted to the orange cones >>> something different out there and the old man of the herd is curious ;;;;;;;;;
More reason to set up at least a part of the container for your residence,
