When the revolution gets here…

…the folks responsible for automatic updates to Windows 10 will be one of the first groups up against the wall.

By Grabthars Hammer, my operating system will be avenged….

  1. Having problems Win 10? I am using Win 7 pro, best there is. “Grande Hard” tried to cover too many bases with one OS, phone, tablet, lap top and PC desktop.
    Will NEVER GO TO 10!

  2. Funny you should mention. Just today at work, in a very sneeky manner Windows 10 uploaded to my computer without my permission. Had to call the IT guy to pull it off. Wasted all kinds of time. Bill Gates, you deserve a punch to the mouth.

    • I concur with dick-punching Gates.

Auto uploaded to my machine without my permission. Took 45 minutes to restore to the older system that liked. That’s on my laptop.

My desktop unit is still my 1995 power Mac.

  3. By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Worvan, Win 7 Pro shall be avenged.

  4. Hi Zero,
If you decide to roll back to 7, there is a neat utility that removes the update prompt/nagware box in your task bar. I sent you a e-mail with the details.

  5. You should be able to uninstall Windows 10, then, when Windows 7 is running normally again, download and run Never10. It seriously fixes the whole upgrade problem.

I ran it before the push to upgrade got really bad, and I haven’t had any annoyances or anything at all. No pop ups asking me if I want to upgrade now or tonight, no waking up one morning and my machine is suddenly Windows 10, nothing.

  6. It is not really the weird interface (I have 10 on my laptop) it’s that it is completely untrustable. It is constantly sending data back to micro$oft, from the location of my laptop, to how it’s doing, to what websites I browse. True facts, go look it up.

Luckily you can turn some of this off but in my mind is it really all turned off.

  7. I’ve never been a windoze fanboy, but decided to let the auto upgrade to 10 happen – since I had a backup computer and fresh backups.

Absolutely a non-event. It upgraded while I ate dinner. Very few problems since then, fewer than Vista, 7 or 8 gave me.

And you can turn auto updates OFF.
