got a garden?
what are you going to grow? my small plot yields beans, tomatoes and squash. might also try growing some leeks and onions. Wildflower 06

Tomatoes (cherry and regular), cucumbers, lettuce, and potatoes, primarily. The Cmdr also always grows salsa and bell peppers. For herbs, we grow basil, cilantro, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, sage, time, oregano, and lemon balm. For berries, we have raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. The berries are still doing very small yields, but they’re all pretty young. 🙂

strawberries can be a pain at times, some years very good, or like last year, nothing. herbs are mostly container grown, along with cherry tomatoes, which always taste better than supermarket golf ball version. as for pests, it is usualy the little two legged dears that ruin things, rarely the four legged long legged rat deers. what pest control do you recommend for either one? So far we haven’t had any pests of any kind, but the garden is also behind an enclosed six foot fence, so that probably has a lot to do with it. 🙂

friend of mine salvaged a twelve foot high squashball fence enclosure for his garden, topped with cable and chicken mesh to discourage large birds and furry pests. I wanted mine eight foot fence topped with razor wire but local ordinaces forbid it. oh, just hope you have a good growing season as the weather is getting strange this year. live free forever, Wildflower 06
