Sadly, quite a few of my ‘regular read’ blogs have shut down over the last year or two. It happens. So, I need some new blogs to follow.

Preferred qualities:

  • Big on preparedness or a reasonably related topic
  • Low on religion
  • Good grammar and punctuation
  • Low Alex Jones quotient
  • Low racist/sexist content. (Hey, its fine to dislike a group for no particular reason, but the name calling gets a bit declasse)
  • Updates at least once a week
  • Isn’t all about homesteading and tiny houses

You’d think that wouldnt be a tall order, but…

Whats my current list of blogs I read look like? Glad you (didn’t) ask:

View From The Porch
SurvivalBlog.com | The Daily Web Log for Prepared Individuals Living in Uncertain Times.
The Firearm Blog
Jerking the Trigger
The Ultimate Answer to Kings | …is not a bullet, but a belly laugh!
Living Freedom
brushbeater – “once more unto the breach, dear friends…”
American Partisan | A vanguard movement of Western Civilization
The Field Lab
Raconteur Report

So, trot your faves and let’s see if there’s something that piques my interest.

This was a suggestion from Aesop a few months ago and I’ve been following ever since. It’s probably weakest on your first point (preparedness) but I’ll let you be the judge.

  2. Good luck with your search.

When you look at new sites you may want to check their news media posts against https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/ to see how loaded the bias factor is. A little bit right or left is to be expected, but some of these guys like WND, WendyMcElroy or Zero Hedge are so consistent in their promotion of propaganda/conspiracies with poor or no sourcing of credible information and a complete lack of transparency, they are not worth looking at.

  3. I find Western Rifle Shooters Association to be entertaining. Their position is kinda out towards the fringe, but I can only hope (not establish) that they are over reacting.

If their take is correct, then there is good information there.

  4. Sadly, Claire Wolfe has thrown in the towel over at Living Freedom. Too bad, it was usually a pretty good read.

  5. I’ve been poking around in everyone’s recommended sites and No One’s Coming looks great. Thanks.

      • Mosby is outstanding. I support him on Patreon. He puts out several long form posts every week. I also highly recommend his books. He doesn’t seem to do much training anymore. He used to be a sort of traveling Max Velocity.

  6. Eaton Rapids Joe is usually very good. Smart guy, funny and pretty good fiction series installments.

Pawpaw’s House – likewise, but southern oriented mainly, being in Louisiana. Just retired law man who enjoys cowboy shooting sports.

    And finally …

Daily Time Waster. Awesome photos well worth viewing. All family -Safe for Work viewable too, for wholesome folk. :^)

  7. SHTF Blog was a great read way back when. Stumbled upon it through (think it was called) the Bison Survival Blog. The latter happened to be very entertaining and had a few cool ideas (especially if you’re cheap). Even though I don’t agree with a lot of the material I bought the Bison Survival Books for entertainment alone.

Not really about prepping at all, at least not in the traditional sense.
It might look like just another contrarian investment website, but it’s not.
Ben Hunt is a really, really smart guy and he has some incredible philosophical insights into how our Empire pulls off masquerading as a republic. It’s quite different from the usual fare of beans, bullets, and band-aids but I find it no less useful.
