Serendipity

Right place, right time:

Rem. 158 gr. JHP….2600 pieces at $0.06 ea.

I have a case of AA#2 powder, a five gallon bucket of fired .357 brass, and a Dillon Super RL1050….looks like its time to put my .357 needs to rest.

  1. Nice! Good news “comes in 3s”, right? Maybe you should but a powerball ticket this Friday.

  2. Good News any issues getting large pistol primers? Primers seem in short supply around here. 158 grain Pb is a favorite deer round around here. Oddly enough folks are letting go some interesting toys at decent prices around here. Maybe bills are due? I know taxes were deferred but are like those deferred rent payments coming due around here.

Paper punching ammo seems ok lately not premium brands but my time in Uncle Sugars service they didn’t issue me hollow points so…. Oddball ammo around but not in enough bulk to justify a weapon in that caliber.

    • large pistol and large rifle seem readily avsil around here. Small pistol and rifle are scarce.

  3. Sigh.

I’ve got a similar pile dedicated to .30 carbine.

At the end of the day or week, what happened to the time?

  4. Just a word of caution. Great deal on the bullets. My last purchase of 100 Hornady .357 125 gr JHP. Loading some plus P type loads for my 642. What the heck, the bullets won’t seat in the FLARED case mouth. Take out the micrometer, they are all at .398-.399. Sheesh, say .357 on the box this is the 2nd time Hornady has given my wrong sized bullets. The other time was .45 Colt bullets. Pays to check before reloading.

  5. AA #2 might be ok for reduced loads. Maybe a bit fast for hot rod stuff.
    Good score on the bullets

  6. Just yesterday I came across a deal like that at the cash 1 pawn shop in missoula. Got 1200 55gr .223 bullets for $20 and 1000 cci #41 small rifle primers for $5. At a time when small rifle primers are worth their weight in gold i’m very happy. Also managed to pick up 3lbs of h335 at murdocks and 2 more at selway last night on sale for $22/lb

The deals are out there you just have to be willing to buy when you see them.
