No boogaloo today

For years, there’s been the notion that we have a ‘culture war’ going on. You know the one I’m talking about…the red state vs. blue state, gunnies vs antigun, city vs. rural, etc, etc. There’s a Balkanization going on, it’s just that no one can agree on what the dividing issues are.

Nowadays? It’s the Wuhan Flu polarization. On the one hand you have the people who mask up, disinfect everything, call the cops if the neighbors have a barbecue in their yard, demand that ‘outsiders’ self quarantine, and that anyone not wearing a mask is probably also an anti-vaxxing illiterate redneck who votes for Trump…on the other hand you have the people who don’t wear masks, think the othe side is a bunch of nervous Nellies who are quick toe the line whenever the CDC says something, and thing anyone wearing a mask is some sort of Democratic drone who can’t think for themselves and wants a nanny state.

And, according to the media, they’re both buying guns at rates previously unheard of.

I’ve seen more than one person blogging about how there’s going to be a civil war or balkanization and that various enclaves will form and we need to be at this location with our like-minded fellow citizens and..and..and…

Not gonna happen. The US is comprised of fifty individual political lab experiments…if you don’t like something in one state, there’s probably another state that does things the opposite way. You like .gov controls and regulations? You have states that have it in spades. Want .gov that pretty much lets you run amok (comparatively speaking)? Got those too. Want lotsa .gov services? Got just the state for ya…. Want a .gov that offers as little as possible and YOYO? There’s a couple of them too. It’s a fact of life that turns out to be something of a safety valve. Tired of high taxes and bureaucracy? You leave California and New York. Tired of lack of .gov services and oversight? You leave…pretty much everywhere else. But..there’s always someplace else to go that might be more to your liking.

“But..what about Kenosha? Or [location of rioting and shooting]?”, you may ask. Those aren’t revolutions. Those aren’t civil wars. They probably don’t even count as insurrections as much as they are simply ‘a riot’. A civil war where you have armband wearing groups taking over radio stations, airports, roadblocks, and military bases? Not a chance.

We just don’t do political gun-battles-in-the-street like some sort of Third World country. We’re too lazy. We’re too complacent. We’re fans of revolutions-without-the-work. The closest thing you’ll get to a revolution or civil war in this country is some group finally getting it’s political act together enough as a unified bloc to swing an election in their favor. A bloodless coup would probably be about all that could be worked up.

Heck, can you think of any First World country that actually had a shooting-in-the-streets political revolution in the last 75 years? Some First World country with the same level of development as the US? Hmm….some former Soviet state might come to mind but that’s not First World.

Anyway, my point is that as ugly as the upcoming political season is going to be, it isn’t going to be a civil war. It’s going to be stupidly violent in places….riots, arson, that sort of thing. Maybe even a targeted killing or two. But a civil war? Nope. Not a chance.

Lotsa little localized boogaloos, maybe. But no big national boogaloo.

  1. I suspect you’re right – no matter how much we need a civil war we won’t get one.

Intense, violent episodes in certain locations? Absolutely. So far, those have all been one-way, and if the perps attempt to spread them to “certain other locations” they’ll go two-way in a heartbeat, at least for however long it takes for the problem to be resolved. It’ll all be over before the cops finish their first donut, with nothing left for them to do but sweep up the brass and dispose of the bodies.

And I think the riot financiers and organizers know that, which is why some cities will forever look like Berlin in 1945 and others won’t.

The real challenge will be managing the political and social perturbations wrought by the future-Berlin escapees as they migrate to Real America. They’ll bring the disaster with them if given a chance because the money people on the Left want every city to look like 1945 Berlin because they think it’s to their advantage.

  2. “We just don’t do political gun-battles-in-the-street like some sort of Third World country. We’re too lazy. We’re too complacent. We’re fans of revolutions-without-the-work.”

Thank you! That is exactly spot on analysis there.

  3. I read ONLINE about all of the dangerous extremists on the left and on the right. I travel in pretty wide circles. The actual people I talk too all sound a lot less radical, but get spooked by the online boogie men they read about. People are living too much of their mental life in a distorted online world. Unplug and pay attention to your local corner of the world. You’ll probably find it’s quite a bit better.

  4. “We just don’t do political gun-battles-in-the-street like some sort of Third World country. We’re too lazy.”

Not that Americans aren’t lazy, but I’d submit it has more to do with the fact that there’s still abundant food on the shelves & gas at the station. If those go away – shit will get get real very fast.

    • More like EBT(welfare)cards stop working-if you have ever seen when the freebies stop to the entitled, you know where trouble lies.
Many stores in my area were looted and government offices fire bombed but Social Security and Welfare wete completely untouched.

  5. It used to be that way, but not any more. The demand to control everybody had grown to the point where every problem is a federal one, and one solution is mandated. Think not? Name the state where: You can buy a new gun from a manufacturer without an ATF form. Abortions are illegal. The drinking age is under 21. Marriage is only between a man and a woman. Schools are only for education and don’t serve kids free lunch (and breakfast, and take home food for weekends and summers). There are no food stamps (or benefit cards) and welfare is consider charity, not a right. I could go on….

    • I tend to agree. Trying to up-play the “choices” still available of various state .govs really isn’t facing the political realities. Those choices, those differences, are evaporating, surely, and sometimes not so slowly. I’m all for wishful thinking, but the rationalization that wide-scale bloody conflict will be avoided is starting to look more delusional. It’s the nature of the Left to want to impose their “right” way of thinking and feeling on everyone else. At some point, those of us that just want to be left alone are going to “flip that switch.”

  6. You may be correct on no nation wide boogaloo. But, I do believe, as you state there are going to be local ones. Be that as it may, if one is unfortunate enough to be in the locale where one is occurring, as a non participant/victim/business owner, or person that loses their job because of the criminals, it doesn’t make much difference to that victim whether the same is happening elsewhere, they will be experiencing it first hand without their permission. The violence, whether local, or on a larger scale, stills destroys property, ruins lives and creates more insane hate and division, all due to the lack of morals, ethics, true honest education that teaches one to think for themselves rationally and face facts, not feelings. Local, or widespread, it will be run by oligarchs, globalists, elitists and the super wealthy by utilizing useful, uneducated idiots. The good Lord knows there are more than enough of those types willing to cause problems for attention they never received from their single parent families on the “freebie everything” train.

  7. A very small percentage of any population will have the stomach for real combat. When the bullets start flying blood, guts, teeth, and brains of friends, loved ones and kin will be spraying onto everyone.

The opening beach landing scene of Saving Private Ryan while, bloody and shocking, probably is mild compared to real life. The people I’ve know that have experienced real combat (WWI trench warfare, Khe Sahn, D-Day landing, TET offensive, etc) didn’t really want to talk about it. They were also prone to self medicating to deal with PTSD.

I’ve had to clean up after an accidental shooting and a suicide of family members. One quickly loses the desire to experience such things.

  8. Absolutely correct analysis. What we have going on today isn’t even approaching the level of upheaval we had in the 60’s, no assassins or cities completely burnt down, heck it’s not even as bad as the 90’s, no bombing of federal buildings etc. 99% of Americans are indeed too lazy and comfortable to stage some civil war.

  9. For the poor slob whose house is shot up and burned down does it matter if it’s a riot or a boogaloo? How many of us would see our “Preps” burning if that happened to us? Is that OUR Ammo popping in the flames eh?

I pay attention to the bigger circles because it Affects my little circle of concern and CAN DO something about it.

The CIA handbook Color Revolution continues. Only paused for the Socialist-Democratic Events like the Debate. The the commands go out for more actions.

Your right, it’s not a Boogaloo if only one side chases down a white Prius with a truck, a car and a dirt bike for carefully driving through a Antifa mob. It’s not a Boogaloo when only the driver of the Prius is Arrested as the thugs that broke his windows and beat him watch laughing.

A Boogaloo is when we fight back, and so far THEY Act, we complain. They have Effective Leadership, Communications, Organization, a Supply System, Professional Training from various 3 letter agencies, a Legal Team to get them a “Get out of Jail Card” ASAP, a Medical Support System to heal their injured.

So far we have hot words about “I can hit a milk jug at XXX ranges” as others coo and puff up about their “combat” skills. No Leadership, No Supply System, No Medical Support, NO Effective Boogaloo.

Folks I did my 20+ years, Ok? No magic helicopters are going to respond to our radio calls for support. As the Kill-house rules say Your On Your Own YOYO, you have to save yourself, nobody is coming to save you or your Neighbors house from the “Peaceful Protestors”.

There is an Excellent Chance the Deep State WILL Emplace Mr. Sock Puppet and the Real President Kamila AS WELL as Flip the Senate to their Socialist-Democratic Marxist Nightmare. The Deep State doesn’t care WHO the Disposable Face People are, as long as THEY are the power behind the Throne.

The DS will happily throw some disposable face people to the mob to “calm” them. They will happily set up a “Night of the Long Knives” for the rogue Mobs that fail to obey them. The DS will happily USE US as “Useful Idiots” in a Boogaloo to discredit and destroy ourselves on Prime Time TV as well as maybe destroy some rouge Mobs FOR the DS.

The MEDIA is their most effective tool. Even Stalin needed tact support from “the People” to have an effective government and economy. Propaganda is a most effective tool to get that tact support. The Deep State has the full support of the Media.

Not popular words but something to think about. It may take YEARS to regain our country once the Deep State emplaces their disposable face people and establish Venezuela 2.0 American Surveillance State. Hopefully they don’t take a page from there and use Criminal Gangs as deniable-disposable Warlords for the difficult to control areas, BUT I suspect they have been taking notes.

Winter is coming, you have some 30 days until things get VERY REAL.

Or as the Kill-house rules say “Always be working”

    • I think this scenario may be feasible. It may be being overblown, but I have been reading stories of numerous cities where hotels are being filled with less than desirables like something is being staged for deployment come a certain signal or date.
Mass chaos across the country in large and mid-sized cities?

  10. Commander Zero,

I believe that you nailed it. The great majority of Americans will stay home and accept any result of the conflict.

Americans abhor war. The only reason we were drawn into WWII was because Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor and because Hitler committed one of his dumbest acts by declaring war on the US a few days later. (And, yet, he did not require his ally, Japan, to declare war on the Soviet Union. Amazing and incomprehensible.)

Yet, when the “forces of light” were in a fight to the death with the “forces of darkness,” 2/3 of American servicemen from “The Greatest Generation” had to be drafted. And note that a great many young men ran to volunteer in the Navy and Army Air Corps in order to be sure that they never had to engage in ground combat in the Army or Marines.

Keyboard commandos will fantasize about the nature of the coming conflict, but I cannot imagine that there will be large armies of volunteer militia engaging one another. Americans understand the truth of what Nathan Bedford Forrest said, “War means fighting, and fighting means killing.” This notion becomes especially loathsome when the person being killed might be them.

If there is serious evidence of voter fraud (and with universal mail-in voting, how can there not be? Examples have already surfaced at this early stage.) I expect to see arson, looting, and specific violent incidents. Perhaps there will be a thousand Kyle Rittenhouse/Michael Reinoehl incidents.

While this struggle evolves through its various stages, interrupted by a mutation here and there, if history provides a clue, the vast, vast majority of Americans will do no more than sit warm and well-fed in their homes, and watch it all play out on cable news. Grab the popcorn.

  11. Hard to predict the future based on the past. So many variables. Like education, or lack of. I talked to a friend I helped train to fly. He is now a FAA examiner. He said he is sick of young people showing up and expecting to get their license to fly just because they want it. They cannot explain regs. They can’t fly themselves out of a paper bag. They melt down when he fails them. One fell to the floor and kicked and screamed like a 2 year old. The local kids don’t seem as bad as the media portray in the cities, but a few employers have told me they just don’t have the work ethic and cannot think critically. How this will affect this society remains to be seen. The leftist seem to require total control. If they gain power will the lack of critical thinking give them enough troops for the field? I hope not. I don’t worry about it. I prep. I’m old and poor health. I live remote. It would take way too long to bother me out here. I hope.

  12. Countries that suffer from obesity & type 2 diabetes do NOT have civil wars. We’re too fat to get off the couch and fight.

  13. Anyway, my point is that as ugly as the upcoming political season is going to be, it isn’t going to be a civil war. It’s going to be stupidly violent in places….riots, arson, that sort of thing. Maybe even a targeted killing or two. But a civil war? Nope. Not a chance.

Just because a Civil War (or as I prefer, Second Revolution) isn’t going to happen is no reason not to prepare for it.

Much like the validity to the argument that preparing for a zombie apocalypse can still be useful in non-zombie apocalypses (apocalypi?), prepping for the Big Igloo can still be useful in a host of other disasters.

  14. The debt levels are completely unsustainable. Sooner or later (I’m suspecting sooner, but YMMV), The dollar has to go down – hard. This equates to much higher prices. Given that we don’t manufacture much of anything anymore, most of the ‘service’ jobs won’t be around long under such circumstances. When people are hungry and are cold because they’ve already burned their furniture to keep warm, all bets are off.

I don’t see a ‘civil war’ so much as a free for all. If you thought the cities burned down after the Floyd riots, you’re in for a rude awakening. That was just the opening act. It’s my belief that the Deep State will burn it all down rather than give in.

  15. The idea of “fifty individual political lab experiments” just isn’t true anymore. The federal government has grown so powerful and intrusive it’s imperative for your “side” to be in control of it’s levers least it be used against your side. To paraphrase David Burge it’s like two cave men fighting over a machine gun. This is why the left is going nuts over the death of a single elderly woman. No one person, no one job in the US government should have so much riding on it, but here we are.

    • Well said. On that point, if someone REALLY, REALLY hates Donald Trump, the best way to “get rid of him” is to diminish the power of the presidency itself.
