Open wallet , receive magazines

Because I’m a paranoid mofo, I did a little online shopping the evening before Biden’s speech. Package arrived today….let’s see what we have…….

Magpul 35-rd 9mm mags for the CZ Evo, a bunch more 17-rd 9mm Glock mags, and some 21-rd Glock mags. Because.

Interestingly, while ammo prices have gone way out of orbit, and gun prices are pretty high, the average price of magazines seems to have remained pretty flat…for now.

  1. Agreed pricing is great right now. Bought a bunch of the magpul 17/21 mags for our glocks also. Preloaded them up with +p. You can never have too many mags.

    • bought 2 by accident! order page never showed completed – never received email – bought again LOL

    • Unless he had a heart attack during the fight after trying to drag all that heavy ammo around…..

  2. My theory remains that a big contributing factor to the ammo shortage (and by extension, current prices) is the large number of new shooters who bought their first gun(s) due to pandemic and riot scares in 2020.

All these new shooters know they need ammo for their new firearms, but haven’t yet evolved to the point of worrying over spare mags. Why worry about buying more mags when you can’t even find enough ammo to fully load the three magazines you already own?

  3. Beretta is doing 25% off purchases of $150 or more, including magazines.
    I don’t think I NEED anymore 92 mags…but I still have Clinton ban flashbacks. So I ordered a few….

  4. I have noticed the same on magazines. That has not stopped me from taking advantage of the prices…

  5. and they said Obama was the best gun salesman. I’m sure the industry is cheering on Biden!

  6. You’re right CZ about how strange it is that magazines haven’t crept up with the other parts of the firearms sale frenzy. Two months ago, I picked up a Ruger American Ranch rifle in 5.56 that takes AR mags. Around the time I picked up the American Ranch Rifle, another place had 10 round AR pistol mags on sale for $14.95 each, so I picked up 20. Five mags go into what I call my attrition reserve and the rest are in the gun safe, loaded. Since then the cost of that rifle has gone up almost 15% over what I paid, but the magazines are only a buck more.

  7. Screw guns and mags, I got enough.

Have you checked lumber prices lately? You can go to Home Depot and pick up a 1/2 inch OSB for just under $58 dollars a sheet on that which was $7.85 per 4×8 sheet, 6 months ago. If you don’t believe me, just check HDepot online.

China has been super maxing timber from Canada for years and now they are strangling us to kill the USA. If you need products, you’d better stock up on them now as it is only going to get worse, I fear.

You can only shoot one gun at a time. Choose wisely…

  8. Be nice if magpul started making Ruger mini 14 magazines. Per the mini fans on line, none of the aftermarket mags work consistently well and ruger brand are expensive. Typically $50 for a 30 round and $40 for 10 or 20 rounds.

    • The Tapco Gen 2 Mini14 mags were very acceptable alternatives. See my post about them.
