Movie night

Alright, I’ve seen just about every form of survivalist/postapocalypse movie known to man….and probably the most under-represented genre (probably for the best anyway) is survivalist romance. (You might think a post-apocalypse musical would be the most under-represented…you’d be…close.) And yet, I seem to have missed this:

I suppose the message given in the movie is that if you worry too much about the future you wind up missing out on the benefits of the present. At least, thats what the grasshopper would say. Nonetheless, I may have to go fire up the Netflix/Prime and see if I can snag this for some night when there’s nothing better to watch. John Lithgow, I think, is a good talent and I’d be interested to see how if he brings something to the role that couldn’t be accomplished by any other actor his age.

Then again, given Hollywood’s attitude, at the end ofthe movie the guy could have an epiphany, burn all his preps, and think he’d wasted all his time and money on foolishness. I’ll just have to watch and find out, I suppose.

  1. Definitely looks like a worthy option. I adore Blythe Danner. But I suspect it will all go awry at the end.

    • I’m tech illiterate, almost. What vpns should I avoid? I’ve seen so many adds for nord and I’ve heard it’s almost a honeypot.

      • Nord is a good one. what you see on the internet is people who like to diss successful industry leaders to appear smarter. Nord is regularly audited and found to hold No records. They are further moving to RAM only servers which hold data for something like picoseconds. They are in Panama also, where US court orders take effectively forever to enforce (which means no one even tries).

Honeypot? If gov is out to get you that badly, you need to get off the internet anyway. A honeypot is possible anywhere. HIGHLY unlikely unless you are John Walker level.

Nord is unbelievably easy to install and set up (always use a kill switch). They have more servers in more countries than anyone which matters to me. Yes, i use Nord, but there are other good ones.

  2. Will be a worthy film to see. I’ll see it when it comes to TV, unless I ditch TV before then (which is always possible considering the state of TV anymore).
Live for today for today is all you have.
Plan for tomorrow, for without those plans there can be no hope.
Treat the world and all in it as a place you would like to inherit.
God will take us all in the end, some sent to Hell, others to reside in His house.
    Live well !

  3. I’ve been watching some Punisher on Netflix…. and of course the villan turns out to be a white male constitutionalist…

How many hours did I waste there? Slow learner I guess.

  4. I like the end when hes selling off his preps at a yard sale, and shtf.

  5. I will look for it. But lately I have been watching The Last Man On Earth, a “post-apocalyptic” comedy. A lot of stupid, silly stuff. Not an intellectually stimulating show, but fun. Some cringeworthy funny moments. What is somewhat creepy is how it is an upper respiratory virus that takes out most of the population.

  6. Yesterday is a canceled check,
    Tomorrow is a promissory note,
    But today, Today is cash….

  7. The production meetings must have gone something like; we need more butts in seats, what demographic still goes to theatres?,what 3 things are they concerned with?,what gives them hope?,who can we get?,how much can we budget? Ok lets get it made for seasonal roll out
