  1. Hope it goes well.
Apropos of nothing, I’ve been doing a fair bit of 22lr plinking with the kids lately. I’m a CZ guy (NPI), so thought it might be nice to have an extra 10 round magazine for the 452. I’ve been ‘watching’ an eBay auction for an OEM mag (normally ~$35).
Yesterday it was up to $85. For *one* unremarkable polymer 22lr mag.
Auction just closed. $149.50. WTF, man? With shipping it’s probably $160.

Somewhere out there tonight, there’s a mega-douchebag patting himself on the back for ‘winning’ that auction.
    We’re done.

  2. In the financial world they talk about diversification? Your quite aware and intelligent about money and such.

Is it diversification if everything we have is denominated by maybe soon to be worth a lot less Dollars?

    Your thoughts are eagerly requested.

    • What isn’t denominated by dollars? Gold? It’s worth xx dollars. Food? Its worth xx dollars. Technically, everything is valued in dollars, and is equally valued in everything else. A five gallon jug of water is worth xx dollars…or xx Euros/chickens/seashells/potatoes/etc. Even if you subscribe to the foolish notion of “If I can’t eat it, shoot it, wear it, or drive it, it’s worthless”, those items are still valued in…dollars (and other currencies.)

Are you asking about diversification in regards to finances? I keep money in cash, metals, market investments, property, and tangibles like guns/ammo/food. Even thought the stock market has never gone to zero (which truly would be Mad Max), if it did the other things would probably keep me solvent enough to provide advantage.

    • How do we preserve our wealth? We invest in assets that can hold our wealths’ value such as gold and silver. Gold was about 35 dollars an ounce in the early 70s, but now it is hovering around 1800.00. The gold isn’t really worth more it has just preserved our buying power against inflation. Same with land and many other hard assets such as guns and ammo do. We can also invest in things that generate income like rental properties.

  3. Hope the test results are negative, and that you have an alibi. Seriously, hope all is well or gets fixed expediently.
