$4.40 a gallon. And there’s no sign of stopping

I wish the stock market was going to the moon like gas prices were…then maybe I could afford gas.

Is there anyone in the world who hasn’t figured out yet that if the fuel that runs the trucks that delivers your food goes up in price, everything delivered by those trucks will also go up?

I fill my truck up even when its only down to 3/4 of a tank. Why? Because if I wait until I’m at 1/4 tank, the gas prices will be higher. So I constantly keep filling the tank to remain ahead of the price increases. Who does that???? Zimbabweans. Venezuelans.

And the worst is yet to come: government ‘relief’. Price controls? Nationalizations? Subsidies and rebates? Who knows? But there is no problem that cannot be made worse by government intervention.

Me…I’ll at least be able to eat, even though I’ll have to ride my bike everywhere.

Literally, there have been revolutions and coups that started over this sort of thing.

Say what you will about Trump, but I remember a glorious moment of sub-$2 gasoline.

  1. I’m doing the same fillup routine as you. Not only am I saving some cash, I’m not as shocked as I would be for 3/4 tank costs. So, yesterday, I hit Costco for a little over 10 gallons at $3.859. Had I waited until I needed 18 gallons, who knows how much that would have been?

  2. Here in Hampton Roads VA we are at $4.45. It’s been going up .10 cents a day this week.

      • …$5.69/gal out here in the Wild West… Down from $5.79 last week… During Trumpian times my wife’s car cost $69.00 to fill from 1/4 tank… Yeah, premium… Now it costs $100.00! That’s a 69% increase! Thanks again, Traitor Joe!

  3. I think its called a subvariant of the Alpha Strategy:
If you are concerned with gasoline prices, buy stocks in the karge oil companies to the extent that the rise in gas prices will be offset by them doing well in the stock market thereby offsetting the price rise at the pump. Same for food prices, ammo prices, other consumables, etc.

fwiw, i did this years ago and make lots of $ when the pump prices are going nuts. (sadly yes, i understand that not everyone has the upfront cash to do employ this strategy)

  4. $5.79 gallon for diesel in Northern Nevada……………goes up about 10 cents every few days….ouch!

  5. arab spring comes to mind. food riots in india this week, same reason. when a man can’t buy a days food for his family w/ a days wages, it goes boom. local exxon station was out of fuel last night. local cvs pharmacy was out of my bp meds. that’s too close for comfort.

  6. Remember when the Vegetable in the White House made such a big deal about releasing a million barrels a day from the National Oil Reserve? It’s not doing what he said it would. Lower prices. Maybe that’s because the dummy ordered it loaded onto tankers and sent to Europe.
Like the shortage of baby formula. Ukraine is getting some. And the illegals at the border are getting a huge amount.
Remember the good days of MAGA and America first.
Because of some mean tweets the Stay Puff marshmallow crowd couldn’t handle and a stolen election none of the DC bottom feeders want to reverse we have this bullshit.
Michigan is being warned that we can expect rolling blackouts and brown outs. These degrowth nature slugs need to grow up and get a life.
Yesterday unleaded regular was $4.47 a gallon. Guess the goal Shitty Britches set of 8 bucks a gallon will be realized right about the 4th of July. How fitting.

    • That’s because it’s going to Free Europe and the Free Republic of Ukraine!

Okay, the Collective West and the dictatorship of Ukraine.

  7. It’s a little different around here, prices peaked about a month ago and and have been bouncing around just below the peak since then.

  8. Cheap diesel is about to hit $6.00/gal here in California. The “good stuff”, Shell and Chevron, are pushing $7.

I remember the Seventies, when if you wanted fresh citrus you’d put in your order with the friends who were going on vacation to Florida.

  9. The maddening part about this entire circus is that it’s done intentionally. And they don’t care whom it hurts or how bad it hurts anyone, as long as they are and can remain above it all. Comrade slo Jon poopypants and his minion lackeys are merely the globalist puppets. If you don’t come up with that conclusion you are suffering form the so called “new math”, where any answer is correct.

  10. Gas lines and rationing like the 1970’s during this Jimmeh Carta remix?
Barry is laughing as the white guy burns it all down better.
    Malice disguised as a dotard.

  11. Two articles I’ve read recently show the stupidity of these watermelons. ( green on the outside brite Marxist Red on the inside.).
Results of a twenty years study reveal that ethenol is worse for the environment then straight gasoline. And cleaner air results in more powerful and destructive hurricanes.
Leave it to the left. They always do the wrong thing. That’s why everything they do blows up in their faces.
Been this way for 40 years and more. Guess that’s why the Vegetable in the White House has been conditioned to always do everything assbackwards. Shall we refer to this as the Biden Effect?

    • yeah that hypothesis was proven after 9/11. with no planes/contrails in the sky temp consistently rose at least 3 degrees above normal predictions. three days later it was back to normal. we cleaned the air by over 80% since 1970. w/o the contrails to block the sunlight we’ll roast. so the global warmists are right, for the wrong reason.

  12. 5.15 for regular today here in mill creek, North of Seattle. 5 30 a mile away. Thanks Joe…

  13. The Republicans in Congress today are, with a few exceptions, are no different than Democrats. Primary concern, getting re-elected or elected to a more powerful position.
