LifeStraws…again II

Pretty soon theyll be giving them away, assuming they have any left. They only had maybe a dozen or so packages left. Comes out to $4.25 ea. Ridiculous price….for that kinda money you should have spares on top of spares.

  1. Makes me wonder what is up with Lifestraw; did Costco overbuy, or is LS about to go under?

    • Probably bought large for beginning of summer and then as summer progresses the demand dies and CostCo needs the shelf space

  2. Yes. I noted it is an occurrence with major box retailers to really slash down the price on various items. It may be an A. I. type of software algorithm in the inventory and sales flow data that causes this in localities but not in online same product sales. These would indeed be a seasonal summer camper tourist item that has not moved fast enough in sales to trip the algorithm. Eco tard tourists buy bottled water anyway for their outdoorsy adventures. A macro economic occurrence for prepsters to be alert for is a stagflation, or corporate fire sale type of pricing that is pre indicators of a grind up or crunch in the economy at large. The big biz folks would know the data before so called journalists would eve report on it. Stay alert for prep gear blow out pricing opportunities. Commander thanks for the loitering about Costco spycraft reports for the readership.

  3. My COSTCO was sold out of them on Friday. They are apparently clearancing them out. According to a gal that was putting things away that customers had left up front, so she really knew where stuff went, she said that they had started out with other water purifiers. They then were moved to the back wall where things apparently go to die…for now, the season, whatever.

  4. The .00 price at Costco usually means it’s a manager special, so that price may not be the same at all the other Costcos.

  5. We were in a different Costco yesterday and they were $19.99 for 4.
Note that we got a gift card for the first price drop of our initial purchase, but not the later price drops.
