Bluehost, the folks that host this website, apparently had some hiccups earlier. Thus, if you came here earlier and got a page saying things timed out or couldnt be found…thats what it was. Next time, check this link to see if the problem is the hosting or if its something else.

Picked up a used HiPower the other day. An old T-series from the 60’s. Got a good price on it but it isn’t exactly in cherry condition. I just got back from the range and put twenty rounds through it to make sure it works. This thing has no bluing on it whatsoever…to the point that I wonder if its been hard chromed or nickeled. It predates the stainless HiPowers so either this thing is nickeled/chromed or absolutely every speck of it is in the white. I got a good deal on it and I may wind up making it a project gun….send it off for a front sight dovetail, new sights, new trigger, some cerokote, and maybe match barrel.

I mentioned the purchase to someone and they asked if it was a purchase for keeping up at the Beta Site. I had to laugh a bit at that. No, no, I said, I’ve been accumulating guns for the  Beta Site for dang near ten years or more at this point. Thats partially what all those Ruger P95’s are for. When everything is ready, there’ll be no shortage of guns to transport and secure at the Beta Site. Well beyond the tertiary level of backup. More along the PACER line…(Primary, Auxiliary, Contingency, Extra, Redundant/Reserve.)

I need to go to the Beta Site this weekend and scope out where to have the conex dropped. I don’t want it sitting in the middle of my building area where it’ll stick out like a sore thumb and it greets my gaze first thing in the morning, but at the same time I don’t want it all the way on the other side of the property so I have to walk a half mile to get my stuff. I need to find a place that is convenient, but a tad out of the way. Since naturally flat space is at a bit of a premium up there, I need to examine all possibilities thoroughly.

Its darn near a hundred degrees out there today, but believe it or not, the Beta Site will probably see snow here in less than two months. I need to start hustling and get stuff done.
