This is embarrassing…. I’ve been so wrapped up in things around here that I completely forgot that Paratus is next month…and was reminded by ,Rawles mentioning it over at SurvivalBlog.
So..yes…Paratus is coming! It’s September 21’st this year. If you’re unfamiliar with Paratus, the somewhat-semi-official holiday of preparedness, you can read the Paratus FAQ.
Don’t forget – there’s a survival-related gift-giving component to the holiday and nothing fits in the holiday backpack like a couple 10/22 mags that you got a screaming deal on. (And that deal ends in about two days so…chop chop!)
God, I wish I could take advantage of these mag deals but I live in a round-limited state 🙁

don;t set yourself up for grief, while its a great buy, what would be the consequence if you were caught?
Agreed. I was hoping to see if there were modification kits to round limit them but I couldn’t find any. Oh well 🙁 hopefully leaving my terrible state within a year
White elephant used preparedness book exchange would be a fun tradition.
Also, evaluation of stores and abilities with goal assessment and setting will be a part of my family’s Paratus. For example, if I am 5 inches from being able to touch my toes, I will work on flexibility so that by next year’s Paratus I will be able to touch my toes. Flexibility is an often overlooked fitness category, and important for avoiding injury. Or, I will use up and replace my 20 oldest buckets of dry goods over the next year. Or I will assess my marksmanship, and work to improve x amount based on this year’s assessment.
