I voted ammunition, but it ran close behind food, specifically long term food. You can carry only so much gear and I think a lot of it will be abandoned on site or put away in a cache that will become forgotten or owner dying without disclosing location(s) of it/them.

You left out the best idea – “savings” and/or “investment” as I would put it aside or get silver, gold or whatever to be used as needed down the road. Having a bit of cash on hand is my best use.

I came here to say that. I thought immediately “buy silver,” and was surprised to not see it as an option on the survey.

I voted ammo since my preferred carry /SHTF load is drying up for sales to us little folks. Food would be pretty close behind though since they sell a wide variety of the mountain house pouches there now i just pick up 3 or 4 whenever i have the displeasure of going there. If only they sold the esbit fuel tabs too.
With the amount of traveling I have been doing the last two years, I’m usually not at the home base. I figure training is better. Take the skills with you. A BF pays for a few weeks of mma training, or go towards a spot welding class.
Nothing cool here. I put gear/clothing. Specifically shoes or boots. GOOD Footwear will be hard to get in a EOTW type situation. There will be a lot more walking.
If you have an Ollies in your area take a look over there. They usually have wellco boots, in various color schemes, for like 20-30 dollars. They arent as comfortable as my rockies but they last forever.
