Two ‘house of worship’ attacks, two different results

Interesting contrast… two houses of worship have someone attack worshippers. The folks in NY are helpless until the bad guy flees the scene. The folks in TX open up on the bad guy and put an end to the situation. Some interesting lessons in there, hm? The difference wasn’t the religions, the difference was the prevailing attitudes of the locale.

Texas is a place where “I killed him, but he needed killin'” is a legal defense.

Video of the incident can be found online. It appears one armed congregant got shot as he was trying to present his pistol. There’s a lesson to be learned there, I think.

    • Thanks for that. Sending this to my church’s security coordinator in case he hadn’t seen. What’s fascinating is, both how ‘fast’ it all goes down, and how slow some people are to realize what is happening. Only God knows how many lives were saved that day.

  1. Advice. If you can move out of any state or city run by Commie Libs and their minions.
At the moment the three states with the highest percentage of people trying to unass them are, Commiefornia, New York, and Illinois. Maryland will soon be on that list. Wait time for a moving van or UHaul is six months or longer.
All should lose US House seats in 2021. Which is good. Texas, Florida and the Carolinas will most likely be the beneficiary of this mass migration out of the Progressive Paradises.

    • Greetings from a new Hoosier,Indiana is one of the few states where it is legal to shoot a cop if they trespass without a warrant. Uhaul was busy but not out of trucks.

    • I hear from the uhaul/penske type rental places that the fee for leaving California to move to TX is 3x what the other direction gets charged. It’s costing them to relocate those units in bulk numbers to get them to where the demand is. I’ve seen transporters loaded with uhaul trailers on the interstates.

Unfortunately, it’s not just the anti-progressives that are leaving the Progressive utopias. I’ve got two sisters on the Left, and both have bailed out of CA, to avoid the taxes and other high costs. I’m fairly sure that they haven’t made the connection between those high costs and the way they have voted for decades. Hell, one of them even flew out to DC to attend the Obama Inauguration.

  2. On Fox News a few minutes ago, I heard one of the congregation members in Texas, an elderly male, say about the shooter, “”Well, he’s a creature of God also just like we are. And it’s a sad thing that he had to come into the congregation and it’s a sad thing that we had to hurt him. But I don’t have any hate for this person. We can’t have hate for these people.”

Really? I think that I can say that this turn-the-other-cheek, pathetic excuse for an old man, may be sleeping well tonight only because other people in his congregation who were not so testosterone-challenged helped the shooter “to touch the face of Jesus” so quickly.

I strongly suspect that the prevailing culture in Monsey, NY, would have caused those present at the Hanukkah party to be horrified had they learned that one of the attendees was carrying a gun in advance of the machete attack. “You have a gun! THIS IS NOT WHO WE ARE! We let the authorities deal with these type of things.”

Of course, the results in both incidents were determined by choices made in advance of the incidents, and choices have consequences.

    • Saying that it was sad they had to hurt doesnt negate the fact he said they had to hurt the shooter. Your definition of “testosterone challenged” would probably include Jesus Christ.

      • Yes, I find this man’s sense of perspective on the situation to he admirable. Good men did what they had to do to prevent other good people from being hurt. The fact that deadly force was necessary is not questioned, at the same time should never be a cause for celebration.

  3. The guy who actually took down the bad guy in TX was former LEO and head of the church’s security team. I don’t know if synagogues have security teams, but most if not all of the non-Catholic Christian churches around here do, especially the big churches. Never met anyone who self identified as being from a Catholic church, the lefty Popes’ legacy might prevent that.

I meet them when I do any training at all with our Constables, and in various places where a citizen might learn more about actively defending themselves or learn more about the local policing efforts, IE Citizen’s Police Academy, Citizens on Patrol, stopthebleed events, etc.

    nick in TX

    • Security from a synagogue is only trained to head shoot children for sport and murder reporters. The rabbi’s interviewed were too fat to even stand up,plenty of ambulances and yellow vests in hebrew, should of been handing out JFPO literature

  4. I just found this on http://www.thegatewaypundit.com. Here’s Joe Biden in Iowa a few months ago about the change in Texas law that allowed residents to carry firearms in churches:

“Dealing with firearms, it is irrational, with all due respect to the governor of Texas, irrational what they are doing,” Biden told reporters on September 2. “On the very day you see a mass shooting … and we’re talking about loosening access to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship, it’s just absolutely irrational. It’s totally irrational.”

    Typical Lib.

  5. I hope one of the local firearms emporiums gives each one of the good guys a case of ammo in their preferred caliber. Contrary to what we hear in the useless media this is happening more and more. I for one will not frequent any establishment that is a gun free, make that Homicide zone. People who have more than six functioning brain cells are sick of the lies and ommissions from the DNC media. We are sick of lying pandering losers who wouldn’t know which end of a gun the bullet comes out of trying to act like experts when these turds can’t tie their own shoes without help. We are making great progress with the Article Five Convention of the States movement which will offer an amendment to term limit members of Congress. Just think. The biggest liars against gun ownership will be gone.

    • Do not mess with the Constitution,if you think opening it to change without amendment will be a good idea, you have not met the enemy(don’t give them any ideas, they are far too stupid and dangerous). It may also upset 200+ years of legal precedent, not like they’re not already trying.

      • Read Mark Levin’s book the Liberty Amendments. This is NOT a con-con. It is a targeted convention of the States. Then if you have a copy of the Constitution on hand read article five. This was insisted on by no less than George Mason to give the States a way to offer and ratify Amendments other than it being left to just Congress. As you may have noticed they aren’t going to fix what they built for themselves. It is up to us.
The arguments that there will be a runaway Convention is ludicrous when you consider the number of States required to ask for the convention, 32 and the number to ratify an amendment, 37. Most of the States have both or at least one chamber in Republican control.
Check out the Convention of States web site. You will be enlightened. The Convention of the States will be accomplished in 2020. We are close and getting closer to the number needed.
There will be at least five Amendments key at this Convention. Including term limits for Congress and the Federal judiciary. A balanced budget amendment and others to trim unneeded departments that are dead weight and costly. Read the book. Then see what you think.

  6. I remember a few years ago, and believe it applies even more today, and the outcome was recently enacted at the latest church in Texas. Ron White, the comedian once said, “If you come to Texas and kill someone – We will kill you back” … end of story. This crap would end if those intent on committing crimes had this scenario to look forward to…. At this church this exact same outcome came to fruition. Ya Think!
