Natural selection takes a holiday

When the judge says it like it is:

Years ago, here in town,  there was a little old man who was asleep in his house when some drug monster came crashing through his living room picture window, Terrified old man did the reasonable thing and gave the intruder a new belly button. Cops were pleased enough that there was talk of offering to reimburse the man for his ammo.
Such is the world we are in……

  1. Interesting story. When you consider that in Missouri castle doctrine is a legal defence and there is no permit required to carry, this guy really has a guardian angel.

  2. Reimburse the man for his ammo? Nowadays, I’m not sure they could afford to do so on a policeman’s salary.

  3. For real. Just saw a blurb from the ammo producers. The current drought in ammo will continue deep into 2021.
Guess this is what happens when a Society prepares for war.

  4. A number of years ago we had a local shopkeeper shoot an armed robber. Unfortunately, the perp survived. Several days later I was riding up an elevator at the courthouse with one of our judges . . . one of the more pragmatic ones. As soon as the only other rider exited, and we were alone, he suggested to me that some of us take the shopkeeper out and give him some shooting lessons.
