Randy Weaver passes

SPOKANE, Wash — Randy Weaver, patriarch of a family that was involved in an 11-day Idaho standoff with federal agents 30 years ago that left three people dead and helped spark the growth of anti-government extremists, has died at the age of 74.

I met Randy Weaver back in the late ’90s. Seemed like a nice enough guy…quiet, didnt say much. But, I guess having your unarmed wife shot by a .gov sniper will take the wind out of your sails.

This guy was one of several focal points for the ‘militia movement’ back in the ’90s. I think after Ruby Ridge, he just wanted to be left alone to take care of his kids and move on with what was left of his life. Raw deal all around.

  1. For those that don’t know, Mr. Weaver was ‘set up’ by the government. If your gut tells you not to sell to someone, don’t do it.

The FBI and BATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) began sending in agents to infiltrate groups in Idaho. Agent Herb Byerly, working undercover as Kenneth Fadeley, made contact with Randy Weaver and became friendly. Weaver, who never joined any of the targeted groups, was targeted by the agent because of the respect many of those involved in this lifestyle had for him.

Slowly, Weaver began to trust the undercover Fadeley as a friend, and Fadeley saw this as an opportunity. The Agent asked Randy to sell him some shotguns, which Weaver was to cut down to an illegal length. Randy refused, but after several requests from his “friend”, who claimed that he was in desperate need for money, Randy complied and sold the agent two sawed-off shotguns.

Michael Kahoe, the chief of the FBI violent crime section, pled guilty to obstruction of justice for destroying a report critical of the agency’s role in at Ruby Ridge. He was sentenced to 18 months and a $4,000 fine.[19]

    His lawyer was Gerry Spence.

  4. I like how the marxists “worded” that. He was ‘involved’ with federal authorities. Not “federal authorities murdered his wife”, nor anything approaching truth.
    Bastards.

  5. The fed “sharpshooters” killed Weaver’s wife as she stood near a door holding their infant, fatally shot the 14-year-old son in the back, and killed the family’s dog. It’s possible there will be a special place in Hell for the triggermen.

      • According to the sniping experts at SOF Mag, he also had a snipers hide at the Waco Barbecue, were he left a pile of brass.

  6. I read spenses book about the trial, according to the book ” Not one defense witness was called” and he still won the case, that how much they fucked up,
