Flashlight holster

So its been a couple weeks since I picked up the flashlight I posted about a while back. Thus far, I’ve been extraordinarily pleased with it. It’s just a tad bigger than what I’d want to carry around in my pocket for everyday use (that need is far better served with the Fenix E12), but for a flashlight to keep in my Bag O’ Tricks (TM) or on a belt….wonderful choice.

The belt thing, however…..

Like pretty much every high(er)-end flashlight you buy these days, this thing came with a nylon belt pouch. Nothing wrong with that. But I want something a little more durable and a bit more resilient. Fortunately, the internet is not lacking in ways to spend money. Specifically, this little piece o’ gear.

Mounted on my new Viking Tactical belt, it fits just fine and remains out of the way but handy. Recommended.

What? The Viking Tactical belt? Oh..ok….more about that later.

  1. Yes. Having a hand sized nuclear bright tactical flashlight in a belt holster, orientated for fast deployment is tier one level operator standards. This will allow you fast illumination of sketchy things, without going all drawn gun with weapon light attached flooding the dimly lit restaurant full of normie patrons just for an item dropped on the floor search. A little pocket light in a velcro flapped pants pocket is get killed too slow to deploy. A bright light to the eyeballs of a mental case person or street scumbag is good starting point in the use of force steps to de escalate things before going john wick. An also important use of having a hand torch available for low light conditions is to differentiate that “Zooey” female imposter from a legitimate female. Not the kind of surprise desired.

    Stay frosty and illuminated.

  2. I have a light in an old single
Mag pouch on my JIC belt. This would
be a better way to do that job.

  3. If one needs a light instantly, it should be in your hand, or strapped to your head for hands-free use. If you’re using it as a less-than-lethal stun weapon, carry it as such.

If not, it belongs in a secure holster, which should include a covering flap, and be light-proof when closed, and one should probably dummy-cord said light to the holster/body, for obvious reasons (i.e., the light you drop in the lake/off the cliff/down the septic tank is no longer any good to you).

    Ask me how I know.
