That’s a neat place, but it sure is pricey.
I don’t consider that a bunker since it’s natural, and looking at the metal sealing it, it wouldn’t hold against that much force (and additionally, lots of details are now online about it).
I’d prefer a MUCH lower key place.
I’d hit that.
Well, you can fix everything about real estate, except one.
Location.
And everything east of the Mississippi is absolutely off my list of acceptable choices, because of crowds.
cavern works out to slightly over one acre in size
I would be concerned about the type of rock that it is in. Is there a radon issue? Also, is it anywhere in an earthquake zone? Tennessee has two seismic zones, so that should be looked at, Underground can be nice, but you don’t want it collapsing on you, I have read that Cheyanne Mountain has the inside lined with woven steel mesh anchored into the rock, Lots to consider
Nice, and Bedford county is pretty good. Unfortunately, well out of my price range.
There’s a place out Trapper Creek Road by Melrose that has a huge “shop.”
Of course, Trapper Creek road splits the property, and the “shop” is a huge old mine building that’s falling apart.
Neat place-they improved the road and there’s (unfortunately) cell service now up at the old towns of Hecla, Trapper City, and Lion City.
Shelbyville is a short drive from Memphis that says it all
