Lets see…

Economy on the ropes…..check
Military stretched thin…check
Terrorist activity likely…check
Civil liberties gradually eroding…check

Time to grab the clipboard and make sure things are ready.

This week, since the weather is nice, Im taking the GPS and heading out to the hills to scout cache locations. Joy.

Prepare to be probed

Well, yeee-hah!

I found my self an An/PSR-1a on eBay, with 9 probes, and won the damn thing for a little over a hundred bucks. Bwahahahahaaa……lets see the feds get past those! “Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Humans approach!”

Indeed!

Seismic Intrusion alarm bidding

Damn…I was outbid on eBay for the TRC-3A Wireless Seismic Intrusion Detection sets…..

I dont want to have to depends on trip flares and jury-rigged devices to alert me to someone breaching the property. I wouldnt mind getting the AN/PSR-1A sets, but those arent wireless and would require burying the wires..which can result in having to dig a couple hundred yards of trench…small, narrow, trench sure..but still a good bit of work.

I can get the new TRC-3A sets from JRH but I was hoping to find something cheaper on eBay. Still and all, eBay has been *very* good for lots of other hard-to-find military gear…like my field phones…..

AW ban stuff

This is amusing. The Democrats are , again, trying to give the impression they know something about guns… theyre first AW ban didnt work because they couldnt figure out how to define an AW. So now theyre just going to keep adding to the list of features and pretty soon (you can see this coming, right?) *everything* will be considered an AW.

They better bottle the 1994 AW Ban up and not let it come to a vote or Im gonna be majorly annoyed.

TA-312 madness

Praise be to eBay…the best source for military goodies since I bought that duffel bag of M16 magazines out of the back of a guys Citation in the Domino’s parking lot.

Commander Zeros Ultimate Dream Home (Rancho Ballistica) will have need for these things. The TA312 is the phone you used to see on M*A*S*H that radar would wind the crank on and yell “Sparky?”. You hook it up to some two strand wire and you have telephone communications between two points. Just the ticket for communications between the main house and the observation posts or the locked front gate waaaaaaaaay down the road. Best of all, its about $40 for the pair and another $9 for the Technical Manual. This is good. I’ll test ‘em out, clean em up, lay in a half mile of wire and secure them in the bunker. Will probably get another couple of them for parts and extras…..

They should be just the ticket for people at the gate letting me know theyre there. (And believe me, when you come onto Commander Zero’s property you do not want him to not know youre there….)

Next up: personal radio comms.
